It belonged to the Wheaton family. Based on the auto in the picture, it was probably taken early in the 20th century. It was a large, impressive home for the era, and it remained standing in the 1960s. At the time it was either a VFW hall or an Elks Club. The house was built near a large lake, and Jim Wheaton planted rows of trees along each side of the road leading to the house.
